Since 1991, Hollander's has been nationally recognized as specialists in decorative papers and bookbinding supplies. Their retail store is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan and stocks over 2,000 unique decorative papers, as well as many traditional artist papers. Most of the papers are imported from around the world and include large collections of Italian prints, Japanese papers, and hand marbles.
Hollander's bookbinding supplies are geared towards all levels with a major focus on beginners and the intermediate level. In addition to carrying various leathers and bookcloth, Hollander's offers a wide range of adhesives, bookbinding tools, and book repair supplies. They also sell several types of book board and a unique and popular service of custom board cutting.
Hollander's is owned by Tom and Cindy Hollander. Prior to opening their store in 1991, they spent many years creating a small craft business of making and selling decorative boxes, books, and desk accessories. From 1993 through 2013, they operated Hollander's School of Book & Paper Arts. The school taught bookbinding, book arts and unique paper arts classes to thousands of students.
Tom and Cindy wrote a box making book, Constructing and Covering Boxes in 2009, and are currently working on a second book focusing more on learning traditional bookbinding techniques.
