Renée Jarmolowicz
Renee has been teaching art teacher and educator for over 25 years. She is accomplished at the lettering and book arts, as well as drawing and mixed-media art forms. Her award winning work can be found in many national and international exhibits as well as private collections. She is the owner of the Artist Alcove, specializing in contemporary abstract calligraphy, mixed-media works on paper, and artist books
Hedi Kyle
Hedi Kyle recently retired as Head Conservator at the American Philosophical Society, and continues teaching as Adjunct Professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she teaches book structures to MFA students of the Graduate Program in Book Arts and Printmaking. Equally at home in the fields of conservation and the book arts, these fields have greatly infuenced her work and cross fertilized each other. Her one-of-a-kind constructions have been exhibited internationally, and are in private and public collections. She is co-founder of Paper and Book Intensive (PBI).
Monique Lallier
Monique
is internationally recognized as a major award-winning design
bookbinder and book artist. For 12 years she was the Chairman of the
Standards of Excellence of the Guild of Book Workers. She is the
current director of the American Academy of Bookbinding, which offers

John Mackrell
John
is a long time student of book conservation and fine binding and
currently assists Don Etherington when he teaching American Academy of
Bookbinding conservation workshops at Hollander's.
Cynthia May
Cynthia
is a mixed media specialist and has been an art educator for over 15
years. She is an active member in the International Society of Altered
Book Artists. Cynthia is also an avid weaver and fiber artist and often
merges the crafts with her bookmaking.
Chela Metzger
Chela
is a librarian, bookbinder and book conservator currently teaching
full-time at the University of Texas. Her work in Latin America has
fostered a strong interest in Spanish and Islamic-influenced bindings.
She has taught workshops at the Paper and Book Intensive as well as at
other schools around the country.
Samantha Misiak
Samantha
is a long time Ann Arbor resident and former owner of “Lady of the
Lamp” which specialized in one-of-a-kind lamps and lampshades. She
continues to offer custom design lamps and lampshades to her customers.
Julia Miller
Julia
has an MA in Historical Archives and is the past senior conservator at
the University of Michigan Conservation & Book Repair Lab. As an
active book artist, she is heavily influenced by the structural and
decorative elements she finds as she studies historical bindings. She
continues to work in private practice and recently has taught at the
Paper and Book Intensive.
Susan Mills
Susan is a
bookbinder who has had her own boindery since 1990. She teaches
traditional bookbinding workshops, many with an histroical slant. She
teaches at the Center for the Book in NYC and the Nova Scotia School of
Art and Design. Her works are found in many libraries and institutions
throughout the United States and Canada.
Cherryl Moote
Cherryl is a highly accomplished paper artist who specializes in calligraphy, bookmaking, and paper decorating. She has written six books for paper crafters. For more on her work, visit her website at www.mootepointes.com
Grace Morgan
Grace has an MA in Elementary Education. After retirement, she discovered the world of beautiful papers and the art of Iris Folding. She enjoys teaching and sharing this unique art form.
Karen O’Neal
Karen is a local multi-media artist and has taught many workshops in papermaking. In addition, she is also accomplished at making papyrus. Her studio, Out of Hand Papermaking Studio, is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Chad Pastotnik
Chad has a BFA, printmaking and established Deep Wood Press in 1992, located in Marcelona, Michigan. He publishes limited edition, hand-bound, fine press books that are letterpress printed and illuminated by original intaglio, wood engraving, and linocut prints.
Marilyn Prucka
Marilyn has a BFA in printmaking and an MFA in Textiles. She has done collographs for over 20 years and currently is an exhibiting artist at the Washington Street Gallery in Ann Arbor.
Benjamin Reynaert
Ben graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. He recently interned for the Center for Book Arts in New York City, and is apprenticing with Bloodroot Press in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He also works full-time on the staff at Hollander’s and is currently the workshop coordinator.
Ann Ridout
Ann is a recently retired bookbinder and book repair specialist at the Preservation Division of the University of Michigan Library. With over 35 years of experience, she has taught countless book repair workshops.
