2008 Summer/Fall Workshop Schedule Available

Registration Information

Registration

When registering for a workshop, follow the regular check-out procedure.  Within 24 hours, an email confirmation will be sent notifying you of the workshops you have registered for.  If the class is full, we will notify you of your place on the waiting list and you will not be charged.

Approximately one week to ten days before your workshop, we will send you an email reminder and confirm any required materials or supplies needed for the class. Those who are not graduates of Hollander's will receive a 10% discount card the day of the class, which is good on all Hollander’s supplies and most other items for up to one week after each workshop.

We also recommend that you create an account with us in My Account.  Each time you come back to the website to register for workshops, all you need to do is log-in and your contact information will fill in for you at checkout.

Graduates of Hollander’s School of Book & Paper Arts qualify for deferred charges until the week of the class, but must still reserve workshops with a credit card. Please note that our cancellation policy includes all graduates as well as non-graduates.

Cancellation Policy

There is a $30 administration fee per cancellation, up to 48 hours prior to the class.  The remainder will refunded as a store credit only, which may be used for future workshops.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop. In the event that Hollander's must cancel a workshop, a full refund will be issued within 48 hours from the date of the cancellation.

Wait List Policy

If a workshop is full, you can still register for that workshop and you will be placed on a waiting list. Complete the registration process as usual. No charge will be made to your credit card at that time. If a space becomes available, we will contact you in the order you are on the wait list and check to see if you are still interested in registering for the workshop.  If the workshop is less than 48 hours away and we are not able to contact you, we will contact the next person on the list.

Supplies You Will Need

Most workshops require that you bring some basic tools or supplies.  Typically for bookmaking such things as a bone folder, x-acto knife, cutting mat, brushes, etc. Some classes may require that you purchase your own paper, book cloth, or other supplies. We will confirm 1-2 weeks prior to the workshop what is needed when we send you an email reminder for your workshop.

Open Studio

Open Studio is an opportunity for students to use our workshop space and equipment.  It is currently available every Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 to all currently enrolled students and all graduates of Hollander’s.  Additional Open Studio times are available by appointment.

Handicap or Special Needs

Our workshop space offers handicap access via an elevator at the front of our store. We also attempt to accommodate other special needs for the workshops such as chairs with backs or lower tables. Please notify us at least three days in advance of your workshop if you have special needs for us to consider.

Lodging

If you are coming in from out of town and need lodging, we offer a variety of lodging recommendations. If you are flying in for a workshop, the closest airport to Ann Arbor is Detroit Metro, about 35 minutes away.
